Book your first drop-off
From finding a shop to placing the order — the whole booking flow, and what to have on hand before you start.
Booking a drop-off takes about five minutes. Here's the whole path, and what you'll need in front of you.
Log your harvest first
Booking starts by picking a harvest, so log yours before you begin. Open My Harvests and add the animal with its tag number and what you took. If it's already in your log from the field, you're ready.
Booking, step by step
- Find a shop. Browse processors near your hunt and compare services, pricing, and reviews. When you've picked one, start an order from their page.
- Select your harvest. Choose the animal you logged. Its tag number and game type carry into the order.
- Choose your cuts. Pick from the shop's own price list — packages, then anything à la carte. The running total updates as you go.
- Set your cut priority. Drag your cuts into the order you actually want them. If the shop can't get to everything, this tells them what to make first.
- Drop-off and contact. Pick your preferred drop-off date and confirm your name, phone, and email. You'll also enter your harvest date and the county and state you hunted, plus any special instructions for the shop.
- Place your order. Review everything, pay the deposit, and you're booked.
What you pay, and when
A 25% deposit is due when you place the order — it holds your slot. The balance is due once the work is done, before pickup. On top of the shop's own pricing, GameDropoff adds a 6% service fee covering secure payment, order tracking, and notifications. There's no subscription for hunters, ever.
After you book
The shop gets your order right away, along with your cut list and contact details. From there you'll follow it from accepted, to dropped off, to in progress, to ready for pickup — and you'll get an email at each change. Text updates go out only if you've opted into texts and have a phone number on your account, so turn that on in account settings if you want them.
Bring your tag number with you at drop-off. Even though it's on the order, the shop may need to confirm it against the animal.
